Handcrafted Art Dolls: Unique Characters with Their Own Stories

Sometimes telling stories through the strokes of my paintbrush just isn’t enough, and I need to bring some of my characters to life, like ‘The Sailor and the Seagull’, and turn them into wonderful handcrafted art dolls.

 

Going from a two-dimensional character to three isn’t always easy. It doesn’t always work, which is why it takes a careful look at everything, from the internal structure down to the smallest details, like clothing or accessories. It’s a slow, hands-on process, made with patience and care. That’s why these are usually made to order, or released in small limited editions.

 

Like all my stories, these characters are touched by fantasy and the sea. The story of ‘The Sailor and the Seagull’ begins on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, where this lovely pair look after the lighthouse every night, until one day, something unexpected happens!!! What will our friends do?…
